Reading the article, I am shocked that the US and its allies hadn’t already chosen this spot for their next politically motivated invasion and occupation, to liberate the poor oppressed citizens and the gas reserves for the world. Perhaps there were no weapons of mass destruction.
Turkmenbashi was canny enough to support the USA when they invaded his neighbours, Afghanistan. America was in no hurry to turf the joker out of power. With that kind of support, he could have slain all the firstborn in the sight of the sun.
