Social and political commentary from a conservative perspective

Now about this report in the Daily Mail yesterday:

Schools are dropping the Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, a Government backed study has revealed.

It found some teachers are reluctant to cover the atrocity for fear of upsetting students whose beliefs include Holocaust denial.

There is also resistance to tackling the 11th century Crusades - where Christians fought Muslim armies for control of Jerusalem - because lessons often contradict what is taught in local mosques.

I spent yesterday evening thinking about it, and concluded that we should not  be surprised. After all, as the Patrick Mercer episode taught us, where Truth conflicts with political correctness, Truth must bow the knee.

Given that recently a man was convicted of holocaust denial, I think it is a bit rich. Lets just say that the whole of history was sweet as roses…

  2. Bel Says:

I agree with you, jailhouse lawyer.

While I don’t think holocaust denial should be a crime, we should at least teach history, so that, at the very least, those doing the denying know what it is they are denying.

  3. Ellee Says:

I saw a news item on TV where local schoolchildren visit holocaust sites to disprove those in denial, none of this makes sense.

I’d say there’s a 10-15% chance that England can become an independent nation once again.

Which is alot greater than the rest of Eurabia.

Blair hates history and has often said so, another few years of this lot and they will have it banned altogether.

Oddly, now that time has passed though he is concerened about his legacy; the man is bi-polar.

  7. Robert Moss Says:

Blair is not bi polar, he is a traitor, as are the majority of those politicians in power today who would have Britain become subservient to the will of those EU countries who have for a thousand years tried to accomplish by force what Blair and all those like him in all parties have/will willingly given/give away without listening to the voice of the people.

Politicians are supposed to work for us, not rule us.

As for the holocaust, it should be proclaimed a fact in black letters ten feet high on the side of the houses of parliament to remind us of what happened the last time the voice was taken away from the people.

  8. Doug Laybourne Says:

    I support Robert Moss 100%
Blair is a traitor along with every other government minister who has in (accordance with our Constitution) illegally signed up to EU Treaties.
Blair, Clinton and Schroeder are also indicted war criminals for the illegal war upon Yugoslavia, a sovereign nation state that never attacked another state.
We should be ashamed - the Serbs were our allies against the Nazis.
In the EU we face German imperialism once more but in the form of socio-economic fascism!
