More BBC dishonesty

Another week, another story of BBC dishonesty.

This time, it turns out they have (again) been deceiving viewers of phone-in shows.

So that’s what we pay the compulsory TV licence for, is it?

Daily the BBC continue to dig their own grave. No one else makes the case for the abolition of the licence fee in such a compelling manner.

Bel: As you say, the BBC cannot be trusted.

BTW, did you know that I beat the TV Licence people in court?

  2. Bel Says:

    Jailhouse, I didn’t know that!

    What happened?

The link is here Bel. Basically, the onus is upon them to prove their case that anyone watches an unlicenced TV for live broadcasts. They failed to produce any evidence. They rely upon TV Licence Enforcers frightening people into paying up. They send threatening letters and then visit. It actually cost them more than the TV Licence fee to obtain the proof by surveillance, and their equipment is not all that accurate. For example, if you watched it on your computer they cannot detect this. Even after winning in court, they visited me again. I simply told them to get off my property, and that I would sue them for harassment if they did not leave me alone. They left saying they would not bother me again for 2 years. I wish more people would stand up to them and they would have to scrap it all together.

the licence fee i support, broadcasting without comercial priorities i support. I guess thats where the bbc seems to have gotten caugght , caring to much about making money and not about providing a service. Having siad that maybe the licence fee could be collected more simply just by adding a penny to the pound in income tax.

Or perhaps the licence fee could be revolutionised by only charging those who wish to watch the BBC? Why not make the BBC a subscription-only service, and then let those who wish to watch it pay for it themselves.

I dread to think what the BBC will be up to next — When Brown gets booted out, maybe the incoming Government will introduce some legislation to deal with such rogue elements within the Media.
